This modern split level extension in Sussex added an extended kitchen /Dining room and family room on 3 levels and uses the client Pauls' great ideas at mixing materials. We had sloping slate roofs ,contemporary rubber sheeted flat roofs with hanging slates and cedar shingles , powder coated grey sliding doors with oak flooring and maple battened ceilings. An ultra modern kitchen layout completed our works.
Emma in Faversham opted for a two storey extension to match her neighbours house. She gained a large light open plan kitchen / living and dining room downstairs with an extended bedroom and home office on the first floor.
A single or two storey extension can prove to be cheaper than moving to a larger house and by combining an extension with some internal remodelling of your existing property you can achieve a spacious open plan living space for your family to enjoy throughout the seasons. Specialising in Loft Conversions has enabled us to really concentrate on maximising the useful space within the different house styles. We often find that our clients are surprised by exactly how much room can be obtained by careful planning and design. Provided that the “head height” within the loft is acceptable the average terraced house can achieve a double bedroom and en-suite shower room. A semi detached house however, should comfortably house an additional double bedroom, bathroom and dressing room and a detached home should provide enough loft space for two bedrooms and a bathroom. This is good news not only for the increased comfort of family life but will also pay dividends when you ultimately sell your property.
Designing a loft conversion very much depends on your house style, however we can convert almost any loft. The main types of conversion range from .....
The roof line conversion
This basically makes use of the existing space provided by your attic, adding Velux windows for natural light.
This style enables a larger flat ceilinged area formed and can be used for all house styles, this conversion provides a more useful space within the same floor area.
Hip to Gable Conversion
Often found although not limited to the 1930’s semi and detached houses the hip end style roof lends itself perfectly to this style of conversion. By re-designing the roof shape to form a gable end a massive area of usable space is created
Alternatively ..., mix it up!
Dormer with Velux
A Dormer conversion is often brightened by incorporating Velux windows (usually to the front elevation) flooding the new space with light.
Hip to Gable incorporating a Dormer and Velux
Wow! Maximum space often enough for three rooms a rear dormer and Velux windows to the front maximise space and light.
Why stop at windows and Velux windows roof lights can offer additional light over stair wells and rooms and if you have got the view sliding or French doors can be installed to your new bedroom with a Juliette balcony maximising both light and style
So as you can see the choice is impressive and I will be happy to advise and guide you through the options available

Blaxland barn – We decorated this beautiful house from top to bottom and completely renovated the en-suites.
Constructing a tiled canopy over the existing flat roofed bay windows and door really smartened up this semi in Maidstone.
Denee was thrilled with her new open plan kitchen/diner after we knocked down her lean-to conservatory and re-built it adjoining her existing kitchen, re-roofing it and adding a roof dome.
Stripping the verge tiles and replacing the rotten timber fascia’s and soffits with UPVC, re-bedding the roof tiles on completion for Monica in Whitstable.
Another great way to maximise your living space. Nobody uses their garage for car storage anymore so instead of filling it with junk why not make it part of your home? A standard sized garage easily provides the space for an additional lounge, dining room, kitchen extension, playroom, bedroom or a partial conversion can give you a great home office or den, downstairs w/c or utility room. Planning permission is very rarely required but building control visits and completion certificate sign off are mandatory. Willowvale construction can design and convert any garage and handle all the paperwork for you.
Here we combined a garage conversion with a rear extension to create a completely self-contained annexe for Shirley and Colin in Whitstable.
Tony and his wife used their garage conversion as a home cinema, complete with a shower room / utility room.
